Who We Are
Agafy Mountains Desert Dwellers Party, Morocco 2024
Mantravine is a Transcendental Dance Fusion band from Singapore, practising a type of alternative world-making. Through their organic sound innovated from contemporary electronic and global rhythms, live instruments, spoken word and vocals, their music gives birth to a new story, rewriting the code which pervades our present existence.
Within this code, sound is the language of the planetary human condition. Sung into the matrix— a different truth is made to perpetuate itself and new earthly patterns are born. Musical experiences, workshops, healing ceremonies and sound baths are the main ways they build and liberate community through the joy of sound.
Mantravine is composed of: Isuru Wijesoma, double-necked guitar with Carnatic slide, Farhan Remy, keyboard and trumpet, Rupak George, Ableton producer, ArunDitha, lyrics and vocals.
They’ve played festivals and events in UK (Medicine Festival), Germany (Wurzel, Evolution, Kepotopia, Gaggalacka), Thailand (Wonderfruit), Italy (Casacon, La Fonderia), New Zealand (Luminate & Twisted Frequency), Morocco (Desert Dwellers), Netherlands (ShiokFest, Toekomstmuziek, Zoku, Parck, Supermercator, Mahara) Sri Lanka (Atman), Hawaii (Phoenix), France (Nataraja, Ancient Sight), Japan (One Music Camp, World Beer Summit), Indonesia (Burning Island Festival), Australia (Dragon Dreaming), Singapore (Sunda Festival, Kalaa Utsavam, Neon Lights, Singapore Writers Festival, Night Festival, Singapore Grand Prix F1, Soulscape), Serbia & Montenegro.

“At the recent Sunda Festival, Singapore-based band Mantravine transported us into their cosmic music universe, seamlessly blending electronica, funk, and psychedelia. I’ve seen many artists blend different genres together, but never quite like this – I could almost feel the sounds of Farhan Remy’s trumpet and keyboard, Isuru Wijesoma’s double-neck guitar and ArunDitha‘s voice resonating through my chest, compelling me to let loose and groove to their organic melodies. They were in tune with the crowd, and the crowd was certainly in-tune with them.” —City Nomads
“Call them sound healers, cosmic shamans, or psychedelic musicians; the artists behind Mantravine individually and collectively set themselves apart from other musicians in the local scene.” —Time Out Singapore
“Such are the cosmic, cosmopolitan soundtracks of Mantravine, one of the scene’s most distinctive ensembles with their enchanting brand of live electronic music…..Mantravine gigs are often a communal affair, with energies echoing and bouncing between band and audience.” —Life In Arpeggio
